As we reflect on the delivery of the Digital Solutions Program, it’s clear just how far this initiative has reached and how meaningful its impact has been for small businesses across Australia. From metro hubs to regional communities, the program has supported thousands of business owners to build digital capability, confidence and resilience.

Below is a snapshot of the program’s impact to date, following the journey as it’s unfolded.

Program Impact to Date: VIC, SA & TAS

19,617 Total Businesses Supported

Across Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania, the Digital Solutions Program has supported a total of 19,617 small businesses to strengthen their digital foundations. This support has taken many forms, from one-on-one advice and workshops to practical digital guidance, all designed to help business owners navigate an increasingly online business landscape.

This reach reflects the strong demand for accessible, practical digital support and the importance of meeting businesses where they are, regardless of size or stage.

Supporting Regional Australia

8,106 Regional Businesses Reached

A significant focus of the program has been ensuring regional businesses have equitable access to support. To date, 8,106 regional businesses across VIC, SA and TAS have engaged with the program.

By delivering tailored support beyond capital cities, the program has helped regional business owners access the same quality digital advice and tools as their metropolitan counterparts, supporting stronger, more connected local economies.

Supporting First Nations Businesses

362 First Nations Businesses Supported

The Digital Solutions Program has also played an important role in supporting 362 First Nations businesses. This work contributes to strengthening Indigenous-led enterprises through culturally respectful, accessible digital support that recognises the unique contexts in which these businesses operate.

Supporting First Nations entrepreneurs is a key part of building a more inclusive and diverse small business ecosystem.

Supporting Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Businesses

3,386 CALD Businesses Supported

Accessibility has been a core principle of the program. To date, 3,386 culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) businesses have been supported through tailored delivery approaches.

This includes adapting content and delivery to ensure business owners from diverse backgrounds can engage meaningfully, build digital confidence, and apply learnings in ways that work for their businesses and communities.

Program Delivery Partners

Delivering a program of this scale would not be possible without strong collaboration.

In Tasmania, the program has been delivered in partnership with The van Diemen Project, while Adelaide Business Hub has supported delivery across South Australia. Together, these partnerships have ensured local knowledge, strong networks and on-the-ground expertise are embedded into program delivery.

The Digital Solutions Program is delivered as part of the Australian Small Business Advisory Services, an Australian Government initiative, supporting small businesses nationwide to adapt, grow and thrive in a digital economy.

Looking Ahead

The impact to date highlights the value of practical, inclusive and locally delivered digital support. As the needs of small businesses continue to evolve, programs like Digital Solutions remain critical in helping business owners build capability, confidence and long-term resilience.

At Melbourne Innovation Centre, we’re proud to have played a role in delivering this impact and supporting thousands of businesses on their digital journey.
