Digital Solutions Mentoring Terms

Your mentoring hours
Your place includes up to five hours of one-on-one mentoring, usually taken as five one-hour sessions. Your hours run for three months from your first session. Anything not used in that time lapses. The package is available once per business. It's a single round of mentoring rather than something you renew.

Your mentor
We match you with the mentor best suited to what you want to work on, based on what you tell us when you book. You don't choose your own mentor. If your mentor isn't available, or if a different mentor is a better fit for what you're working on, we may match you with someone else and will let you know.

Booking

All initial sessions are booked through Melbourne Innovation Centre's booking system, not directly with your mentor. Your mentor will help you book your next session at the end of each one.

Cancellations and no-shows
This is a government-subsidised program with limited spots. Please give at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule. Same-day cancellations and no-shows come out of your mentoring hours. When you don't show, someone else misses out on that spot. If something comes up, email us to talk it through.

If we need to cancel
If we cancel a session, or your mentor can't attend, that session doesn't come out of your hours and we'll help you rebook. If it pushes you past your three months, we'll extend your window to cover it.

What mentoring covers

Your mentor gives advice and builds your digital know-how. They won't complete tasks for you, like building your website. Sessions focus on your business, not your clients' businesses, and support is limited to your booked session hours. Mentoring is general business guidance. It isn't legal, accounting, tax or financial advice, and decisions about your business remain yours.

Feedback
You'll be asked for quick feedback after each session. It takes a couple of minutes, it helps us improve the program, and it's part of what keeps the program funded.

Conduct and conflicts
Please be respectful and professional with your mentor. A mentor may decline a session if there's a personal or professional conflict, and we'll suggest an alternative. Melbourne Innovation Centre may decline service where these terms aren't met.

Eligibility and refunds
We'll confirm your eligibility within 3 business days. If you're not eligible and haven't used your mentoring, we'll refund you. If you've started using your hours, a refund may not apply. Hours you don't use within your three months aren't refundable. If you pay twice, or pay for a second package when you've already completed one, we'll refund the duplicate payment.

Financial hardship
The full mentoring package is $110 for Digital Solutions participants, with the Australian Government subsidising the rest. If the $110 is a barrier for your business, email us before booking. Financial hardship criteria apply. We assess requests case by case and may be able to reduce or waive the contribution.
