To strengthen her digital presence and build confidence as a small business owner, Gillian joined the Digital Solutions Program, delivered in Tasmania through our partnership with The van Diemen Project.
While Gillian had a clear vision for her hampers, she needed digital tools and confidence to bring her brand to life online. Having never designed a website or managed digital marketing, she wanted hands-on, personalised support to build foundational skills and better understand her local business landscape.
Through one-on-one mentoring with her Digital Solutions Tasmania mentor, Gillian developed a brand-new website, learned the fundamentals of social media and gained valuable local insights and connections. She describes the experience as supportive and confidence-building:
“The initial conversation allowed me to explain my needs. I felt well supported progressing forward knowing I would have a mentor to help me as I had never done any part of website design before. The friendly, patient approach was exactly what I was hoping for.”
Gillian also found the program’s community connections invaluable:
“I picked up localised advice, connections and networking just by chatting with mentors in the program. They were very forthcoming with information and support.”
Our partnership with The van Diemen Project ensured Gillian had access to experienced local mentors who understand the Tasmanian business environment and deliver practical, relevant guidance.
Since completing her sessions and launching her new website, Gillian has experienced meaningful growth and momentum:
Gillian shares:
“If you have a passion and want to see your business grow but lack technical or digital experience, the team were super approachable. I have grown as a person and upskilled through the process.”
With the support of Digital Solutions and The Van Diemen Project, Gillian is now confident in her ability to expand Tasmanian Occasional Hampers - through corporate gifting opportunities, collaborations, and increased visibility at local business events.
