“If you're passionate about sports and fitness, you've probably faced the challenge of finding like-minded workout partners,” says Sherol Singh, Founder of Keep Active Australia. Her entrepreneurial journey is a testament to the power of passion and determination in transforming the way people engage in physical activities.

“My cultural background is Indian, and I migrated here from Fiji,” shares the founder. Her upbringing lacked access to organised sports, and the absence of role models for women in sports left a void. However, her love for badminton, tennis, and group exercise classes fuelled her passion for physical activity.

Driven by personal experiences and a desire to solve a common problem, she embarked on a mission.

“I started my business to solve a real problem experienced by many - finding someone to exercise with and play sports,” she explains.

Connecting People Through Sports and Fitness

Keep Active Australia quickly evolved into a comprehensive platform with over 1700 activities spanning across Australia. It doesn't just promote fitness; it fosters social connections and continuous participation in physical activities, making exercise addictive and enjoyable.

Building a Strong Online Presence

Her business journey wasn't without its hurdles, Sherol experienced challenges around navigating the complexities of an online business.

“Launching a new website, we had to establish a presence on Google so we could be found on the first page for search results. We needed help with our marketing and sales strategy.” Sherol  shares.

Enter the Digital Solutions Program at Melbourne Innovation Centre, recommended by mentors from the Chamber of Commerce. Affordable and brimming with expert guidance, the program has provided Sherol with the digital support she was looking for.
