Kostas is the driving force behind "NZEB Energy Rating," a business dedicated to providing energy rating reports for commercial and residential buildings. However, the company doesn't stop at assessments. Leveraging Kostas' architectural background, they offer innovative and cost-effective building methodologies, with a strong focus on passive architecture. Their mission is to promote Passive House as the leading standard on the path to achieving NZEB (Net Zero Energy Buildings). NZEB Energy Rating collaborates exclusively with professionals, including architects, engineers, builders, and developers.

Kostas' journey into the world of energy-efficient buildings was inspired by the global shift towards clean energy industries. With Australia's goal of achieving Net Zero emissions by 2050, there's a growing need for sustainable housing designs. Kostas, who first encountered energy-efficient building components in Germany in the early '90s, saw the challenge in translating scientific knowledge into standardised services and tangible products.

Navigating the Digital Landscape with Melbourne Innovation Centre

Kostas joined the Digital Solutions Program at Melbourne Innovation Centre to gain expertise in social media and stay updated on advertising trends. For businesses like his, which deal with specialised scientific knowledge, effectively reaching the market requires a strong digital presence.

“The reason for joining the program was to familiarise myself with social media and follow the trends in advertising. Again, scientific knowledge is not a product you can simply just put on the market.” Kostas shares.

Before joining the Program, Kostas faced challenges in online advertising and social media marketing, common hurdles for businesses in niche industries.

Kostas is in the early stages of his digital journey but has already learned the fundamentals. He acknowledges the power of reaching a targeted audience through social media. Although he's just getting started, Kostas has noticed higher engagement with his advertisements on Instagram, indicating the program's positive impact on his digital presence.

Kostas’ Advice for Aspiring Entrepreneurs

Kostas wants to emphasise to fellow founders and business owners the importance of embracing continuous learning and adapting to evolving trends is crucial in the digital landscape.

“Regardless of how familiar someone can be with social media, advertisement, and marketing, there will always be something new to learn.” Kostas shares.

Kostas Stefanidis' dedication to promoting energy-efficient buildings and his commitment to translating scientific knowledge into practical solutions make him a valuable player in the sustainable construction industry. While still in the early stages of harnessing digital solutions for his business, Kostas is on the path to enhancing his online presence and expanding the reach of NZEB Energy Rating.
